i am a globally influenced artist & an LA Music Award winning songwriter. i began songwriting on a tree-swing at age 8 in my grandma's back yard. found myself singing a melody i'd never heard with words i'd never read and ran inside to show cousin Lee who had his guitar. when he magically knew how to play along to a song that i made up in that very moment, i knew i was experiencing for the first time what i would experience everyday for the rest of my life. i started piano lessons right away and a few years later, fell head over heels in love with the guitar whom i called my husband from day one. i played profusely, intensely, passionately, unstoppably. my appetite fully satiated while unquenchable. i've now written thousands of songs and earned my Bachelor’s in Music Composition/Technology studying at ORU and the Contemporary Music Center.
i won first place in 4 songwriting contests, have over 40 songs licensed for TV/film/commercials, completed two state-wide DIY tours, performed thousands of times locally in LA, recorded & released music with multiple grammy-award winning producers including 2 full length albums, 2 EPs, & multiple singles. and the since the people is what this is all about i must name a few of some of my favorite producers and collaborators i've had the joy of working with~ Chris James (Grammy Award Winner for Prince), Ran Jackson, Mike Whitaker, Bryan Senti (Rufus Wainwright), Brad Blackwood, David Huff, Kevin Teasley, including i've also licensed songs to other artists and have a published library of songs for syncing. i signed & released a single with Disney & Freeform in 2016 after being selected by Universal Studios to be the featured artist in their promotional campaign for the film, “SING.”
i have been experimenting with the significance of my sensitivity to vibrations. i believe music has healing properties beyond what we have considered or explored academically, scientifically, spiritually, or medically. i theorize that collecting the data of certain vibrations can be used to inform treatment plans & strategies toward healing from illnesses, diseases, imbalances, & sicknesses of the body, mind, & spirit both for the individual and for the collective. i have seen incredible results & find great value in attuning to & identifying frequencies of the world around us by listening, matching, applying harmonic theory, and following my intuition case by case as more reveals note by note in what has been a riveting exploration of observing Mystery unfold. "Matricity" is the home through which i intend to continue conducting curiosity in this passion, and where i will nurture my gifts & practice as a "Matrician" by creative experimentation. while this is a field i have decades of discoveries and research experiences with on my own, i am extremely interested in collaborating with other people. developing these ideas around music as medicine for the body is exciting! i believe it is time to share some of my work with others and spread the message and methods of experimentation that yield results that have informed and enhanced my trust in Music & Vibration as one of the greatest academic guides we have~ leading us directly into new understandings in math & science as well as deeper spiritual & interpersonal dynamics & connections.
